| This easy-to-install, no soldering required upgrade kit is designed for use in locomotives that are Command Ready and equipped with Lionel SignalSounds. Simply remove the SignalSounds electronic board and sound chip, then install the RailSounds electronic board and sound chip to get all the expanded features of Lionel’s RailSounds system!
Installation of the RailSounds upgrade kits is independent of the installation of Lionel TrainMaster Command; however, as with all RailSounds systems, not all of the RailSounds features are available without Lionel TrainMaster Command.
This upgrade kit is designed for use only on locomotives that are designated “Command Ready” in catalogs since 1998 which are equipped with SignalSounds; locomotives equipped with SignalSounds before the development of the Command Ready feature require additional modification
